Chief Diversity Officer to Discuss Ideas for Fostering Diversity, Inclusivity and Equity on Sept. 13

POTSDAM, NY (08/28/2017) (readMedia)-- SUNY Potsdam's Associate Vice President/Chief Diversity Officer Bernadette S. Tiapo will open the 2017-18 Disciplined Inquiry in Education Seminar Series with a presentation at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 13 in the Literacy Center at Satterlee Hall.

Tiapo's presentation, "Campus Climate and Institutional Success," will focus on creating an understanding of the importance of diversity, inclusivity and equity on campus. She will also be exploring the College's response to issues on campus and how that affects recruitment, retention, academic excellence and success.

The Disciplined Inquiry in Education Seminar is sponsored by SUNY Potsdam's School of Education and Professional Studies. Since its inception 10 years ago, the School has hosted more than 100 presentations as part of the annual seminar.

All seminar meetings will be offered on Wednesdays, in the Literacy Center from noon to 1 p.m. These events are free, and the public is welcome to attend.
