Chris O'Quain of Houston earns Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team honor

GEORGETOWN, TX (05/24/2011)(readMedia)-- Georgetown (Texas) – Chris O'Quain of Houston earned an All-SCAC First Team selection after a sensational junior season. O'Quain is a goalie for the Pirate lacrosse team at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.

O'Quain capped off a great season with a stellar performance in the SCAC Conference Tournament, holding SCAC powerhouse Colorado College to 10 goals with 25 saves in the contest. His 25 saves was a new SU record and put him in the top five in the nation for saves in a game. In 15 games this season he recorded 187 saves and touted a .588 save percentage, both second in the SCAC.

O'Quain is the son of Sean and Beth Allgood. He is a graduate of Cypress Falls High School.

The Pirates closed out the season in fourth place in the conference with a 7-9 overall record, 4-3 in the SCAC and earned a bid to the first-ever SCAC Conference Tournament where they were narrowly defeated 10-4 by Colorado College.
