Coastal Homeowners Insurance Panel Meeting

NEW YORK, NY (10/13/2010)(readMedia)-- The Temporary Panel on Homeowners Insurance Coverage, chaired by NYS Insurance Superintendent James Wrynn and including consumer representatives, insurers, agents/brokers, building code experts and weather experts appointed by the Legislature and the Governor and charged by law with examining insurance and other issues facing coastal homeowners and developing possible solutions will hold its first meeting today, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. on in the Neil D. Levin Conference Room on the 5th Floor of the Department's Manhattan headquarters at 25 Beaver Street.

The Panel will establish an agenda and work plan to address the various issues set forth in the law, including how to mitigate the effect of any weather disaster on insurance rates in coastal areas.
