Commerce Township Student Awarded Impact Scholarship at Michigan Tech

HOUGHTON, MI (03/07/2014)(readMedia)-- Celicia Bledsoe of Walled Lake Western High School will receive one of the first Impact Scholarships from Michigan Technological University's School of Business and Economics. She is the daughter of Alishia Bledsoe and plans on majoring in management.

This scholarship program was open to incoming first-year students from Michigan who plan to enroll in the School of Business and Economics beginning in their first fall semester at Michigan Tech. Students invited to attend a scholarship event on campus participated in group activities to assess leadership skills, attended a sample business class, and were asked to write about their thoughts on entrepreneurship versus traditional employment with an established company. The visit also allowed students to meet University administrators, faculty, and students to learn more about the business programs at Michigan Tech.
