Imam Feisal Rauf, Rabbi David Saperstein, Rev. Dr. Alison Boden, Leader Anne Klaeysen

NEW YORK, NY (04/25/2012)(readMedia)-- Common Cause/NY and the New York Society for Ethical Culture will co-host a public panel discussion about the religious and moral perspective on campaign finance reform and fair elections.

Campaign finance is front and center in New York State, with Governor Cuomo and Speaker Silver both expressing their support for some kind of reform. Common Cause/NY and other allies are part of a coalition effort to educate the public and achieve tangible results in the 2012 legislative cycle. To that end, the panel discussion will focus on a wide variety of religious perspectives, and seek to address the moral context of campaign finance reform.

The public will also have an opportunity to purchase advance copies of Imam Feisal's new book, Moving the Mountain, Beyond Ground Zero to a New Vision of Islam in America, on sale May 8th. TIME Magazine named Imam Feisal one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2011.
