Concordia University Inducts Robbinsdale Native Into Athletic Hall of Fame
ST. PAUL, MN (10/11/2010)(readMedia)-- Scott Hollingsworth '99, of Robbinsdale, Minn., was inducted into the Concordia University, St. Paul, Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, Oct. 1, 2010.
Hollingsworth graduated from Robbinsdale-Cooper High School and went on to graduate from Concordia in 1999 with a bachelor's of science degree after being named the Male Athlete of the Year that spring. In his career on the pitcher's mound, Hollingsworth compiled a career 23-12 win-loss record in 259 innings pitched. Hollingsworth held the record of 23 wins until two years ago. After Concordia, he signed with the Texas Rangers organization and played one year of Class A baseball in Pulaski, Va. He continued to play amateur baseball and pitched the winning championship game at the 2002 State Amateur Baseball Tournament against Rochester. He was a Class B Amateur All-State Tournament selection in 2004 and in his career has compiled more than 360 hits in nearly 1200 at bats in 379 games. Hollingsworth played in nine consecutive state tournaments.
Hollingsworth has been working in the car sales industry for five years and is currently at Murphy Warehouse as a dispatcher. He is married to Concordia alum Kelli (Breimhorst) and they have a one year old daughter.
