CAZENOVIA, NY (04/07/2011)(readMedia)-- The Cazenovia College Art Gallery in Reisman Hall will host exhibitions of work by seniors in its Art and Design classes.
Corinne A. Cunningham is a senior from Utica, N.Y., who is majoring in visual communications. She displays a work titled "Glass Mask." The show runs from April 18 - 24, with an artists' reception on April 19 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Cazenovia College Art Gallery in Reisman Hall, 6 Sullivan St., is on the corner of Sullivan and Seminary streets in Cazenovia. Hours during the academic year are: Monday through Thursday, 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.; Friday, 1-4 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 2-6 p.m. Summer hours vary.
Cunningham writes of her work, "My life and my design have always been comprised of lines, layers, and marks. The layers of my life are built upon the marks I make. I have always left my mark – whether it was on a person or a sheet of paper. The marks I leave create lines to follow. Being able to manipulate anything physically or graphically, constructing a new context and realm for it to breathe and flourish, is my passion. Art and design use all of these to devise solutions to the most abstract problems. Achieving simplicity in a vast array of ideas has always been an exciting challenge. I love that my life and my design have power – power to move, persuade, and educate through the use of lines, layers, and marks.
