Correction: Salisbury-Based N.C. Guard Helicopter Unit Departs Sunday
Saturday's Scheduled Event Has Been Postponed Until Sunday, April 17, Due to Weather
RALEIGH, NC (04/15/2011)(readMedia)-- The North Carolina National Guard's Salisbury-based Company C, 1st Battalion, 131st Aviation Regiment will take off in their UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters from their home airfield at 10 a.m. SUNDAY, APRIL 17.
Families will attend the flyoff as their Soldiers depart for Fort Hood, Texas, where they will train prior to deploying to Iraq.
Media outlets wishing to cover the departure are invited to do so. Reporters should arrive at the North Carolina National Guard's Army Aviation Support Facility 2, located at Rowan County Airport, by 8:30 a.m. Family members and Soldiers will be available for interview.
