Couch White, LLP Renews Commitment to Downtown Albany

ALBANY, NY (10/05/2011)(readMedia)-- Couch White, LLP today announced that it has extended the lease for its downtown Albany office space. The contract renewal extends the lease for the sixth and seventh floors at 540 Broadway through June 2021, with options for the Firm to extend beyond that date.

"We remain committed to Downtown Albany and we are delighted that we were able to agree to terms with Albany Ventures, Inc. to extend our lease at 540 Broadway," said Robert M. Loughney, Managing Partner of Couch White, LLP. "Albany has always been an integral part of our identity and history and, with this extension, the Firm is reinforcing that the City will be an important part of our future."

As part of its commitment to downtown Albany, the Firm also entered into a long-term contract with the Albany Parking Authority, securing use of the Columbia Street garage for employees through June 2021.

"Mayor Jerry Jennings provided the vision and direction to the Albany Parking Authority to create a number of initiatives to support economic development in the City of Albany; providing well lit, convenient, and affordable parking in the heart of downtown as well as other commercial and mixed use areas in the city," said Michael T. Klein, Executive Director of the Albany Parking Authority. "We are very pleased that the resulting Parking Incentive Program played a role in keeping Couch White at their current location at 540 Broadway."

Mr. Loughney concurred, "The Parking Authority has provided more options to attract new business and retain existing ones that benefit businesses based in downtown Albany. The Authority's offering was a critical component to our lease extension and we thank Mayor Jennings for his leadership and the Parking Authority for their initiatives."
