Cross Country Names 2023 Team Captains

The Kutztown University cross country program will be captained by six student-athletes for the 2023 campaign, as announced by head coach Ray Hoffman.

Representing the men's team will be Port Habalar (Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport), Logan Iacobelli (Breinigsville, Pa./Parkland), and Jack Hollar (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Pocono Mountain East). Jaelyn D'Amelio (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional), Anastasia Fratanduono (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan), and Ava Bendetti (Breinigsville, Pa./Parkland) will be the captains of the women's squad.

On the men's side, it's the second time that Habalar and Iacobelli have captained the Maroon and Gold, while it's the first time for Hollar. On the women's side, it's the second time that D'Amelio and Fratanduono have been named captains, while it's the first time for Bendetti.

Both squads came in ranked No. 6 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) preseason rankings and open the season on Friday, Sept. 1 at the Panthers XC Invite. That race will take place at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, N.Y.
