HOUGHTON, MI (02/05/2013)(readMedia)-- Michigan Tech basketball player Alex Culy earned Capital One Academic All-District Four honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Junior guard Alex Culy (Rice Lake, Wis.) is averaging 7.9 points per game and 3.9 rebounds, third most on the team. He ranks ninth in the GLIAC in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.6) and 10th in assists (57). He earned GLIAC All-Defensive Team honors last season. Culy, a two-time winner of the team's scholastic achievement award, has a 3.88 cumulative grade point average in chemical engineering.
He will be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-American honors.
