ALBANY, NY (02/14/2008)(readMedia)-- Commissioner David J. Swarts of the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today announced the availability of the new #88 Dale Earnhardt, Jr. custom license plate. The officially licensed NASCAR license plate series offered by the DMV is available to race fans across the state.

“NASCAR fans are among the most loyal to their favorite driver and team from Daytona to Homestead and every race in between,” Commissioner Swarts said. “As the new 2008 NASCAR season begins we are glad to be able to offer this new license plate to the many fans of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and his team.”

The new plate features a dark blue background with a large red #88 on the left side linked to Earnhardt’s logo, with the NASCAR logo on the bottom. The remainder of the plate on the right side features a yellow tint gradation behind the plate numbers and letters, with the black Hendrick Motorsports logo on the upper right. The two sides of the plate are separated by a checkered flag graphic.
