ALBANY, NY (08/23/2007)(readMedia)-- Commissioner David J. Swarts of the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) today announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art office in the town of Massapequa to better serve customers in the area. The facility will replace the aging Amityville District Office that will be permanently closed for State business.
“Serving the motoring public of Long Island in the most convenient and efficient manner is a consistent goal of the DMV,” Commissioner Swarts said. “This new office will integrate newer technologies along with a better configuration to ensure improved service for the public in the area and will not be an inconvenience to drivers since the location is in roughly the same area as the old Amityville office.”
The DMV will open the new Massapequa District Office, located at 927 Carmans Road in the Carmans Plaza shopping center, Massapequa, Long Island, on Monday August 27th, 2007. This new facility will replace the Amityville office located on Route 110 that will close after more than 20 years of service on Friday, August 24th at 4:00 p.m., its regular closing time. The new office is located less than 5 minutes away and is easily accessible from both Sunrise Highway and the Southern State Parkway.
The new State office offers a larger parking area and a beautiful new larger office with a streamlined, customer friendly design. Still offering all the services of the former Amityville office, the Massapequa facility will also feature the versatile numbering system, known as QMatic, to serve our customers in comfort as well as efficiency. The location also offers the convenience of the Carmans Plaza Shopping Center with stores and places to eat surrounding the new office.
