DMV Reopens Renovated Office in Springfield Gardens

Facility Will Increase Customer Service to Area Residents

ALBANY, NY (03/28/2008)(readMedia)-- Commissioner David J. Swarts of the Department of Motor Vehicles today announced that the Springfield Gardens District Office, which has been closed for renovations since January 28, will be re-opening on Monday, March 31, 2008. The renovated office will utilize a new floor plan and technologies to increase customer service.

“Serving the Motoring Public of the New York Metropolitan Area in the most convenient and efficient manner is a constant goal of the Department,” Commissioner Swarts said. “This renovated office integrates newer technologies along with a better configuration to ensure improved service for our customers.”

The renovated state office offers a more spacious, streamlined facility designed with the public in mind. While offering the same full service as before the renovation, the Springfield Gardens facility also features the versatile numbering system called QMatic to serve customers in comfort as well as more efficiently.

The renovated office located on the first floor of 168-35 Rockaway Boulevard, Jamaica, New York. 11434 (Cross Streets 175th St. and 148th Ave.) maintains the same services and hours of operation (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday).
