Dachelle London of West Wareham awarded Saint Michael's College Politi International Fellowship

For study abroad in India, and Russia

COLCHESTER, VT (04/04/2011)(readMedia)-- Saint Michael's College student Dachelle London will be venturing far from home next year as she carries out a year-long study-abroad project in Pune, India, and in St. Petersburg, Russia for the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 semesters. Ms. London, the daughter of Dawn Oliveira of West Wareham, was awarded a $5,000 Politi International Fellowship to support her studies.

Ms. London, a sophomore political science major, graduated from Wareham High School before coming to Saint Michael's, a liberal arts Catholic college, located in Burlington, Vermont, one of America's top 10 college towns. In her winning application for the Politi Fellowship, Ms. London demonstrated a passion for languages and for the study of different cultures.

In announcing the award, Dr. Karen Talentino, SMC vice president for academic affairs, said to Ms. London, "I was extremely impressed with your application, and I look forward to hearing about your experience, which I expect will enrich the Saint Michael's community when you return to campus."
