Day of Action focuses on poverty in Des Moines Public Schools
Poverty is huge obstacle to student learning
DES MOINES, IA (12/05/2013)(readMedia)-- Dennis Van Roekel, president of the National Education Association; Tammy Wawro, president of the Iowa State Education Association; Andrew Rasmussen, president of the Des Moines Education Association; and Matt Sinovic, executive director of Progress Iowa are joining a National Day of Action on Monday, December 9, to demand more for Des Moines Public School students. From California to Vermont, Iowa joins over 22 other sites as we raise our hands and voices on behalf of our public school students.
