Des Plaines Native enlists in Illinois Air National Guard

SPRINGFIELD, IL (04/17/2018) (readMedia)-- Springfield, Ill. – Airman Destiny Zuniga, of Des Plaines, Illinois, was sworn into the Illinois Air National Guard April 12, at the 182nd Airlift Wing, in Peoria, Illinois.

Zuniga enlisted as a 2T9X1, Traffic Management Specialist and is assigned to the Student Flight Program in Springfield, Illinois.

Upon completion of her initial training, Zuniga will be assigned to the 182nd Airlift Wing in Peoria, Illinois.

Zuniga is a 2017 graduate of Maine Township High School, in Des Plaines, Illinois.

After successfully completing her training, Zuniga will be eligible for the Illinois National Guard Grant, which pays 100 percent of state-funded college tuition while she works as a full-time student and a part-time Airman. She will also be eligible for the Select Reserve G.I. Bill and federal tuition assistance.
