Downtown Albany Announces Restaurant Week Fall 2011

ALBANY, NY (09/27/2011)(readMedia)-- The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) is pleased to announce the return of the 7th Bi-Annual Restaurant Week slated to begin Thursday, October 13th and run through Friday, October 21st. Seventeen Downtown Albany restaurants will offer a three-course meal valued at a minimum of $35.00 for the price $20.11. Participating restaurants include: Albany Pump Station, Bayou Café, The Brown Derby, Café Capriccio, Franklin's Tower, Hudson Harbor Steak and Seafood, Jack's Oyster House, Katrinella's Bistro, Kelsey's, La Serre, Legends, Pearl Street Pub, R Bar, Savannah's, Taste, V & R and Victory Café.

Since its inception in 2004, Downtown Albany's Restaurant Weeks have had a combined economic impact of over $3 million.

Many restaurants will be offering additional specials during Restaurant Week including: The Bayou Café offering two entrees for the $20.11 rate, Savannah's serving four-courses in place of three and La Serre presenting diners with $25 gift certificates to each table towards a future visit. Downtown Albany retailers will also be offering specials available on the BIDs website at www.downtownalbany.org.

"Nearly every day of Restaurant Week is accompanied by a Downtown Albany show, game or concert," said Georgette Steffens, Executive Director, Downtown Albany BID, "Guests can easily plan to come downtown early to shop, dine and then attend an event."

Highlighted events include the Fall Car Show on Saturday, October 15, 2011 as well as the Downtown Living Showcase on Sunday, October 23, 2011. Additional events can be found on the BID's website at www.downtownalbany.org/events.

Diners are encouraged to make advance reservations with individual restaurants after 2:00 PM daily. In addition to the dining promotion, Restaurant Week patrons can enter to win hundreds of dollars in downtown dining gift certificates by filling out a brief survey about their dining experience at the restaurant. Winners will be chosen at random from all completed surveys. Prizes include: one Downtown Albany winner (a Grand Prize winner to receive 4 gift certificates totaling $200), two I love Albany winners (Second Prize winners to receive 2 gift certificates totaling $100) and four Taste of Albany winners (Third Prize winners to receive 1 gift certificate totaling $50).
