Downtown Albany's Public Art Exhibit-Sculpture in the Streets-Coming to a Close in April

ALBANY, NY (03/16/2010)(readMedia)-- Downtown Albany's hugely successful public art installation, Sculpture in the Streets: The Art of Discovery, sponsored by the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) and Kivort Steel of Waterford, will be de-installed during the week of April 12, 2010, so time is running out to see this exhibit featuring 16 sculptures by 11 nationally and internationally recognized artists: Pat Brentano (Westfield, NY), Carole Eisner (Weston, CT), Dana Filbert (Shelburne Falls, MA), Mike Hansel (Newport, RI), Michio Ihara (Concord, MA), Ann Jon (Becket, MA), Jason Karakehian (Boston, MA), Jason Middlebrook (Hudson, NY), Amy Podmore (Williamstown, MA), George Sherwood (Ipswich, MA), and Gregory Smith (North Pownal, VT). Pieces are positioned strategically around New York's Capital City and are marked in a complimentary Sculpture in the Streets tour map which is available at various locations around the district. To add an educational component to individual or group tours, sample curriculum guides are also available FREE at downtownalbany.org.
Many of the Sculpture in the Streets pieces are available for purchase to bring to your business or residential location or to donate back to the City to add to its public art collection.
