Dr. Lee to strengthen relationships with congregations and ONU alumni across Michigan

BOURBONNAIS, IL (09/09/2011)(readMedia)-- Olivet Nazarene University announces that Dr. Ted R. Lee has accepted the invitation to serve as director of church and university relations for the state of Michigan. In this new position, he will be commissioned to augment the ongoing relationship between Olivet and the pastors, congregations and ONU alumni residing in Michigan

Dr. Lee is no stranger to Olivet. Over the course of 24 years, he served in several senior leadership positions with the University, including his work as the dean of students and senior vice president for institutional advancement. He has been a member of Olivet's Board of Trustees for the past 16 years, and for the past nine years, served as chairman.

In 1995, Dr. Lee was named district superintendent for the Church of the Nazarene's Indianapolis District, his most recent position until retiring in August of this year.

Dr. John C. Bowling, president of Olivet, looks forward to an ongoing partnership with Dr. Lee. "Over the past several years, I have admired Dr. Lee's passion for the Church and for Olivet. His unique insight, tenacity and genuine love for people will make him an asset in this position."

"Dr. Lee has distinguished himself as a capable leader and administrator," said Dr. Brian Allen, vice president for institutional advancement. "I've also known him as a boss, mentor, encourager and friend. I'm looking forward to the relationships he will strengthen with congregations and alumni across Michigan."

Dr. Lee is married to Beverly Lee, who was also employed by Olivet for 24 years, including her work as secretary to President Harold Reed and later in the office of student development. The Lees will reside in Vicksburg, Mich.
