EMS Program Agency's Annual Spring Fling Features Emergency Medical Experts

CANTON, NY (03/24/2010)(readMedia)-- New York State Emergency Medical Services Council Chair Robert Delagi is the keynote speaker at the SUNY Canton North Country EMS Program Agency's 11th Annual Spring Fling conference.

Spring Fling begins with a pre-conference seminar on recruiting and retaining quality volunteers in the emergency services field at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, April 22, at the Bonnie Castle Resort in Alexandria Bay.

Delagi will be hosting a training session highlighting the latest advancements in emergency medical quality improvement policies and procedures, according to Ann Smith, Director of the EMS Program Agency.

"This year's program includes a variety of topics presented by local and state experts," Smith said. "We invite all area First Responders, Emergency Medical Technicians, Emergency Nurses, and Physicians to join us for a fantastic weekend filled with valuable medical information."

The three-day event provides required continuing medical education and offers plenty of networking and social opportunities, according to Smith, who also serves as the event's master of ceremonies.

Featured presentations include a Leadership seminar and Basic EMS Education core content materials needed to fulfill New York State requirements for certification. Vendors will be exhibiting the new technology and advanced products developed to enhance patient care.

The Conference is sponsored by the North Country Regional Emergency Medical Services Council and Advisory Committee, in conjunction with North Country EMS Program Agency at SUNY Canton. The North Country EMS Region includes Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties.

SUNY Canton offers a wide variety of career-driven bachelor's, associate, and certificate programs.
