ROCHESTER, NY (11/18/2011)(readMedia)-- Nazareth College is proud to announce that Associate Professor and Director of Art Education, Shannon Elliott, has been chosen to receive the 2011 New York State Art Teacher's Association (NYSATA) 2011 New York State Art Educator of the Year Award for demonstrating her outstanding ability and commitment to further the field of art education, both in and out of the classroom. Elliott will be presented with her award at the 63rd Annual Conference "IMAGINE That! Unlocking the Power of Creativity and Innovation in Art Education" in Tarrytown, N.Y., on November 19, 2011. As an exceptional art educator, Elliott's dedication and vision have set her far apart from her peers. Elliott now has the pleasure of representing New York at the 2011 National Art Educators Association Convention in New York City, N.Y., where she will be honored as one of 50 exemplary art educators of the United States.
