Emma Willard School Welcomes New Board Chair, Anne N. DePrez '73

TROY, NY (10/20/2011)(readMedia)-- Emma Willard School, one of the nation's leading college preparatory boarding and day schools for young women, has appointed Anne N. DePrez '73 as chair of its Board of Trustees.

A partner in the Indianapolis, Indiana office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP and a member of the firm's Litigation Department, she concentrates her practice in the areas of securities and business litigation. Her securities litigation practice includes representing issuers, directors, underwriters, broker-dealers and others clients in securities fraud class actions, securities regulatory matters, and customer disputes. Her business litigation practice focuses on corporate governance issues such as shareholder disputes, director litigation, and derivative actions, but often encompasses areas as diverse as cooperative membership, contract, partnership, art fraud, insurance, and banking disputes.

DePrez graduated in 1977 from Smith College, Northampton, MA, with a B.A. in economics. In 1981 she received her J.D. magna cum laude from Indiana University Maurer School of Law where she served as managing editor of the Indiana Law Journal.

She is a member of the American and Indiana State Bar Associations, and serves on the board of visitors for the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. She also serves on the board of directors for CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions, Inc. She is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Bet-The-Company Litigation and Securities Law, and Indiana Super Lawyers® magazine in the area of Business Litigation. DePrez is also recognized in the Chambers USA Directory as a leader in Indiana in the Litigation: General Commercial category.
