ALBANY, NY (09/11/2008)(readMedia)-- The Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged will be hosting a free adapted sports and activity clinic for youth between the ages of 5 and 21 who have a physical challenge.
This free program gives participants the opportunity to sample and practice a wide range of sports such as archery, golf, basketball, sit-volleyball, and ramp bowling. Athletes will enjoy lunch, activities and entertainment.
The Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged is the first and only program of its kind in the nation. Administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation since 1985, it offers young people with physical challenges an opportunity to compete in adapted sports. Regional competitions are held annually on Long Island the first weekend after Memorial Day, and at SUNY Brockport on October 17th and 18th, 2008.
For more information or to register for the clinic, please contact Marilee Keast at the Syracuse Games office at 315-492-9654.
