ALBANY, NY (03/10/2011)(readMedia)-- Environmental Advocates of New York congratulates Dereth Glance on her nomination to serve on the International Joint Commission. For decades, Dereth has advocated to protect the Great Lakes. She has also been instrumental in advancing environmental issues Basin-wide, most recently as Executive Program Director with Citizens Campaign for the Environment.
On the six-person International Joint Commission, Dereth will work to prevent and resolve water use disputes on waterways that span the U.S./Canada border.
We applaud President Barack Obama for recognizing Dereth's leadership and dedication and urge the U.S. Senate to confirm her nomination as soon as possible.
