Fidelis Care Names Ben Baia AVP, Employee Relations and Recruitment

AMHERST, NY (07/25/2011)(readMedia)-- Fidelis Care, the New York State Catholic Health Plan, is pleased to announce that Ben Baia has been named Assistant Vice President, Employee Relations and Recruitment. Baia will have state-wide responsibility for employee relations and recruiting, and will be based out of Fidelis Care's Western Regional Office; which serves the counties of Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Wyoming, Genesee, Orleans, Monroe, Livingston, Allegany, Steuben, Ontario, Wayne, and Schuyler.

Before joining Fidelis Care, Baia was Vice President of Human Resources for Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Prior to his position at Niagara Falls Memorial, he served as the HR Business Unit Manager for the SGL Carbon Group. Baia has also worked at the Merchants Insurance Group and Blue Shield of Western New York.

Baia earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and recently completed the Harvard Business School Executive Leadership Program. He is a member of the National Society for Human Resource Management, and is a Niagara University Student Mentor.

A native of Buffalo, Baia, his wife Donna, and children Benjamin and Cristiana, now call Clarence home. In his free-time, Baia pursues his love of music.
