Fidelis Care Names Dr. Chris Wang as Vice President, Medical Director

QUEENS, NY (06/15/2011)(readMedia)-- Fidelis Care, the New York State Catholic Health Plan, is pleased to announce that Chris Wang, MD has joined Fidelis Care as Vice President, Medical Director, responsible for Behavioral Health and Clinical Service operations.

Prior to joining Fidelis Care, Dr. Wang was the Medical Director for the New York Hotel Trades Counsel Association of New York City's Employee Benefit Fund's Queens Health Center. He is also a Faculty Preceptor for the Family Medicine Residency Program at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr Wang previously served as the Medical Director for the Segundo Ruiz Belvis Family Health Center in the Bronx, and Chief Medical Officer for Open Door Family Medical Centers in Westchester County.

Dr. Wang is a graduate of Amherst College, received his MD from Boston University, and his MPH from the Columbia University School of Public Health. Dr. Wang takes particular pride in his work at New York Presbyterian Hospital where he founded the Department of Family Medicine, as well as started the residency program in Family Medicine. In addition, Dr. Wang founded the Center for Family Medicine (now known as the Center for Family and Community Medicine) at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University.

Born and raised in Albany, NY, Dr. Wang currently resides in Yonkers, NY. In his free time, he can be found on the tennis court or spending time with his two daughters.
