ELMIRA, NY (03/30/2012)(readMedia)-- Fidelis Care, the New York State Catholic Health Plan, recently expanded operations to include serving residents of Chemung County. As part of this expansion, Fidelis Care has partnered with Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Guthrie Big Flats, and Chemung County Catholic Charities' Samaritan Center to offer Health Insurance Open Houses for Chemung County's uninsured.
Chemung County is home to more than 1,700 uninsured children under the age of 19, and nearly 6,700 uninsured adults between the ages of 19 and 64. Fidelis Care, and its community partners, are committed to reducing these numbers, and ensuring that all New Yorkers have access to affordable, quality health insurance coverage.
Fidelis Care representatives will be available at the following locations to assist the uninsured in applying for quality, affordable health insurance coverage.

Monday through Friday, 1 - 5 p.m., at the Patient Registration Station

Mondays from 8 - 11 a.m.; and Thursdays from 3 - 5 p.m.

Those unable to attend an Open House are encouraged to contact Fidelis Care at 1-888-343-3547 to schedule an individual consultation at a convenient time and location, including in the comfort and privacy of an applicant's home.
Fidelis Care offers free or low-cost health insurance through New York State's Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus, and Medicaid Managed Care programs. Members are covered for regular checkups, preventive care, routine screenings, hospital and emergency care, eye exams, dental care, and more. In addition, Fidelis Care also offers a variety of benefit options for seniors through Fidelis Medicare Advantage, Dual Advantage, Medicaid Advantage Plus, and Fidelis Care at Home programs, available in certain counties.
