Fidelis Care to Participate In the Saranac Lake Block Party on August 4

SARANAC LAKE, NY (07/26/2011)(readMedia)-- Fidelis Care is pleased to announce that it will participate in the Saranac Lake Block Party on Thursday, August 4 to answer questions about Fidelis Care programs, screen uninsured individuals for eligibility, and schedule appointments to assist individuals in applying for Fidelis Care programs.

The 9th Annual Saranac Lake Block Party will be held on Main Street in Saranac Lake from 1:00pm to 7:00pm, rain or shine. The Block Party is one of Saranac Lake's largest festivals - it has been dubbed the summer "Winter Carnival". The festival features special sales, delicious food, bistro style cafes, chair massages, live entertainment, raffles, games, contests, an obstacle course, bounce house, children's activities, and more.

New York State has a significant population of uninsured residents under the age of 65, including more than 2.3 million adults between the ages of 19 and 64, as well as nearly 350,000 children age 18 and younger. In Franklin and Essex counties, nearly 9,700 adults, and nearly 2,000 children, do not have the security of health insurance for preventive, routine, hospital, or emergency care.
