NEW YORK, NY (10/26/2010)(readMedia)-- "The firing of New York City Board of Elections Executive Director, George Gonzalez and his replacement is yet another dramatic illustration of the need for meaningful reform in the Board's structure and hiring practices. It is hard to tell what effect the termination of Mr. Gonzalez will have, if any, on any of the issues the Board of Elections faces next week as it prepares for election day, but voters deserve more than superficial reforms – they need to see a real change in the partisan nature of New York's administration. It is far past time that we demand that our elected officials change the corrupt business as usual model of administration when it concerns our elections."
