First Quarter 2011 Rochester Patent Index Released

The "Rochester Patent Index" includes patent issuance data for Monroe and Ontario Counties with and without XEROX and KODAK.

In the first quarter of 2011, it can be seen that the overall number of patent issuances in the Rochester area dipped slightly. However, the number of patents issued outside of XEROX and KODAK increased over 10%. "We see this as a signal that small and midsize tech businesses in the Rochester area are continuing to invest in research and development," stated Michael Hoffman.
