ALBANY, NY (04/10/2012)(readMedia)-- Hoffman Warnick LLC (HW), an intellectual property law firm based in Albany, NY, has released the 2012 First Quarter Tech Valley Patent Indices. The "Tech Valley Patent Indices" includes data for the Capital Region (Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga and Rensselaer counties), Tech Valley, Tech Valley without IBM and GE, and the Capital Region without GE.

The Tech Valley Patent Index was very high in the first quarter, tracking along with the record quarterly high for the National number of issued patents. Spencer Warnick, partner at Hoffman Warnick, asserts that the Capital Region Indices remain strong.

The 2012 first quarter POQ is: US Patent No. 8,100,641 B2, issued to Robert James Bracken for "Steam Turbine Having Stage with Buckets of Different Materials." The patent issued, January 24, 2012 and is assigned to General Electric Company, a client of Hoffman Warnick.
