LONDONDERRY, N.H. (05/10/2012)(readMedia)-- While buyers will have to wait until next month to take home an all-new 2013 Ford Escape, Ford of Londonderry will be offering an advance look at the crossover during its sneak-peek party on Tuesday, May 15. The southern New Hampshire Ford dealer will have Ford product specialists on hand to answer any questions and show fans of the Blue Oval brand the ins and outs of the innovative new Ford Escape.
Ford of Londonderry's sneak-peek event will be a no-hassle, no-obligation affair, and everyone in attendance will be treated to a free gift bag, as well as complimentary food and beverages. To add even more excitement to the night, prizes will be raffled off throughout the event, and all those who RSVP and are in attendance will be registered to win an iPad.
"The new Ford Escape isn't simply a new model; it is a new way of looking at compact crossovers and how they fit into our lives," said Jim McGovern, general manager of Ford of Londonderry. "Ford started with a blank sheet and considered what modern drivers need from a vehicle in developing the 2013 Escape. We're very excited to give our customers a look at what Ford came up with."

Ford engineers focused on fuel efficiency while designing the new Escape, but didn't sacrifice capability and power in their search for extra mpgs. To achieve that balance, the 2013 Ford Escape is available with two new direct-injection, turbocharged EcoBoost engines, as well as a revised naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine. Whereas the only 2012 Escape model capable of reaching 30 mpg on the highway is the 2012 Escape Hybrid, all three 2013 Escape engines can achieve that feat.
The most powerful engine option for the 2013 Escape is a 2.0-liter EcoBoost mill that produces 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, enabling a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped. Meanwhile, a 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine with 178 horsepower offers the highest fuel economy at 33 mpg on the highway. As the standard engine, a 2.5-liter Duratec unit with 168 horsepower still returns an impressive 31 mpg on the highway. New Hampshire Ford drivers will also be happy to know that the Escape is available with all-wheel drive, making it a confidence-inspiring ride in winter weather.
"Fuel economy may grab the headlines, but the 2013 Escape is more than just an efficient ride; it is packed with family friendly features that have not previously been offered in the segment," added McGovern. "Ford's hands-free SYNC infotainment system would be at the top of my list, but the power liftgate that automatically opens when you swing your foot under the rear bumper would certainly be a close second."
