ALBANY, NY (01/11/2010)(readMedia)-- Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at 1 PM, WAMC Northeast Public Radio will air an exclusive interview taped last Friday in former Governor Eliot Spitzer's New York City office. Political scientist and President and CEO of WAMC, Alan Chartock, traveled to Manhattan last Friday to meet up with the former Governor and ask him a myriad of questions on topics ranging from Kirsten Gillibrand's appointment to the Senate to his take on the trial of former Senator Joe Bruno. You can hear an excerpt of the interview by going to WAMC's website: www.wamc.org.
"WAMC has always tried to take the road less traveled," Chartock said. "Our news division has won award after award for its work and we have developed a reputation for playing it straight."
In addition to his regular political commentary on WAMC, Chartock is the host of The Capitol Connection, a weekly program of interviews with New York State politicians. He appears each week on the nationally syndicated show, The Media Project, a weekly look at issues confronting the media and regularly hosts the call-in talk show Vox Pop.
Chartock is also the host of Congressional Corner, a daily interview segment of The Roundtable. He interviewed Governor Spitzer on a regular basis, when he was in office, dating back to his tenure as Attorney General.
"Eliot Spitzer did an hour with us that is unequaled in any other media we have seen and we are very grateful for his participation," Chartock said.
WAMC Northeast Public Radio broadcasts 24 hours a day with information and cultural programming from stations reaching parts of seven northeastern states. WAMC is an award winning producer of regionally based programming. WAMC is also a member station of National Public Radio and is affiliated with Public Radio International and American Public Media.
