Free Boating Safety Course Offered During Next School Vacation Week

ALBANY, NY (02/27/2012)(readMedia)-- The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation's Marine Services Bureau announces a free Boating Safety Course offered during school vacation week. This course will be held at the Ray Brook DEC Headquarters 1115 State Route 86 Ray Brook, NY. The eight hour basic boating safety course is Tuesday, April 10 from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm and Wednesday, April 11 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Students must attend both sessions.

Course is open to everyone 10 years or older. Motor boat operators between the ages of 10 and 17 must have a boating safety certificate. All personal watercraft operators must be a minimum of 14 years old and have a boating safety certificate to operate.
