BURLINGTON, VT (03/02/2018) Champlain College's Build Your Own Business (BYOBiz) Program, Career Collaborative, and Office of Institutional Advancement present the 11th annual Elevator Pitch Competition on Tuesday, March 6 at 8 p.m. in Champlain College's Alumni Auditorium, 375 Maple St. It is sponsored by Heritage Automotive Group. It free and open to the public to attend.

The 2018 Elevator Pitch is a competition in which aspiring young job seekers, social activists, and entrepreneurs have 90 seconds to impress a "suit," a person playing the role of a valuable contact for the competitor. What's the incentive? First prize is $500, second prize, $300, and third prize, $100.

A total of 50-80 students, across all majors and grade levels (including graduate students), compete in the preliminary round. This is ultimately narrowed down to 18 finalists, who compete in front of a judges panel of local business leaders for first, second, and third place, as well as for crowd favorite, voted on by the audience.
