BATAVIA, NY (12/08/2011)(readMedia)-- The Albion Campus Center of Genesee Community College is pleased to announce the fall 2011 Student and Instructor of the Semester. Each semester, one student and one instructor are awarded the honor for their academic or teaching performance. Chris Banks of Newfane, New York, has been selected as the Instructor of the Semester and Keith Compton of Brockport, New York, has been selected as the Student of the Semester.
Chris teaches Principles of Business, Professional Sales, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics at the Albion Campus Center. The students that nominated Chris appreciate that he really cares about student learning. Chris takes time to cover class material and is able to explain concepts in a way that students can grasp. He is an enthusiastic teacher and a valued member of the Albion Campus Center team.
Keith Compton is a full-time student at GCC and is pursuing a degree in Business Administration. He returned to college after working many years in his own business and has appreciated learning from dedicated teachers and professionals at GCC. Keith brings passion and enthusiasm to his classes. His peers respect him for his willingness to assist them. Keith is involved in the Collegiate Entrepreneur's Organization (C.E.O.) club, a national student entrepreneur's network which seeks to inspire enterprising creativity at all levels and environments.
Both awards are based upon nominations submitted by either instructors or students. The Instructor and Student of the Semester award certificates are framed and displayed in the campus center, along with photos of the previous award winners from previous semesters.
