BATAVIA, NY (10/15/2009)(readMedia)-- Genesee Community College Swimming and Diving coach and Aquatics director, Scott Hunsinger, has cooked up an impressive performance on Food Network's brand new series, "Tailgate Warriors." The pilot episode airs Saturday, October 17 at 9:00PM on Food Network.

Hunsinger, who refers to his tailgate crew as 'professional tailgaters' has been tailgating with the group at all the home Buffalo Bills games since 1993. Collectively known as Conklin's Tailgate Bar and Grill or CBnG, the group is made up of Scott who hails from Brockport, NY, John Schleyer (Buffalo, NY), Brian Bartalo (Brockport, NY), and Peter Conklin (Dansville, NY) as well as a few other active tailgaters. In 2004, the group bought a 1977 bread truck and named it "Illegal Motion." As the fully-equipped, official vehicle of the CBnG, it has been converted into a tailgating masterpiece loaded with memorabilia, a state-of-the-art sound system, and of course, all of the equipment to make delicious tailgating fare. The group regularly serves 350-600 people, all at no charge. The group survives solely on donations from fans and fellow tailgaters.

The group was approached by Food Network after they had been recommended to the network from their fans. The first episode was filmed August 15, 2009 at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Lot C. CBnG competed against a similar team visiting all the way from Chicago. The competition was filmed by a full production crew in the presence of Food Network guru, Guy Fieri, who hosts three popular shows on Food Network: Guy's Big Bite, Guy Off the Hook and Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

The teams were given two hours to complete a full tailgate menu that included two entrees, three sides and one dessert. Everything needed to be made from scratch, so CBnG prepared a few 'dry runs' to get their recipes just right. On the show, the team served up a Norwood Platter, which consisted of Fried Bologna Sliders and Mini Beef on 'Wecks, along with Wings in Pigskins, Roasted Garlic and Rosemary Salt Potatoes, a scallop salad with warm bacon vinaigrette dressing, referred to as The Four Straight, and a Spicy Corn Medley. The tailgate feast was finished off with a "T.O. is Great on Sundae" (Terrell Owens), an ice cream sundae topped with dark rum caramel sauce.

"We all love cooking," Hunsinger said. "But we're amateur chefs at best. The whole experience has been like a dream come true. It is definitely a milestone in my life."

The episode will air this Saturday, October 17 at 9:00PM on Food Network. Scott and his team don't know who won the cook-off, as two alternate endings were filmed, one with CBnG losing and one of CBnG winning. The ending will be a surprise for all of those who were involved. For recipes from the show visit: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food-network-specials/tailgate-warriors-with-guy-fieri/index.html
