As the summer winds down and the "Back to School Sale" signs appear in stores, the folks at Goldstein Family Auto Group are making school days a little brighter. As part of their commitment to giving something back to their local communities, Alan Goldstein and his crew participated in Drive for the Kids™, a unique initiative that raised some much needed money for the Forts Ferry Elementary School in Latham, New York.

"We believe in giving back and have always found ways to do this with our factory partners and on our own," says Alan Goldstein, President of the family owned group,, who heads up the dealerships, along with his kids, Stefanie and Greg Goldstein. "Our employees and their families are involved in many charitable organizations and as a company, we encourage this type of thoughtfulness."

The Goldstein group delighted the attendees of the Forts Ferry Elementary School's carnival by bringing a fleet of vehicles from the Chrysler line-up and encouraging people to test-drive the cars. Goldstein donated $10 to the school for each test drive and each of those $10 donations was matched by the parent company. Over a hundred participants got to test drive one of the Chryslers and $2280 was raised for the school.

Since Chrysler introduced the mini-van in 1984, the kid-friendly features have changed the way Americans travel. At the same time, Chrysler recognized the need to support educational efforts. The Drive for the Kids™ program makes it possible for Chrysler dealers to work with parents and educators for the benefit of children. Using their marketing dollars, Chrysler can both showcase their product and help schools in communities where the company does business.

This event is just one of many that the Goldstein family has planned over the next several months.
