Governor Eliot Spitzer to Broadcast "Live” from the WAMC Studios on Tuesday

ALBANY, NY (02/08/2008)(readMedia)-- On Tuesday, February 12th, Governor Eliot Spitzer will spend an hour answering listener questions during WAMC/Northeast Public Radio's afternoon "Vox Pop” program. This special edition of "Vox Pop" will air between 2 and 3 p.m. during the station’s winter fund drive. Dr. Alan Chartock, president of WAMC, will host the program in which the governor will discuss everything from the economy and taxes to healthcare and education. "We are very pleased that Governor Spitzer has chosen public radio for this unique exchange of ideas with New Yorkers," said Dr. Chartock when asked for comment. Listeners are encouraged to call in with questions for the governor. The call in number is 1-800-348-2551. Callers can tune in to the show on the radio or listen live on-line at wamc.org. Other public radio stations in New York State have been invited to carry this special broadcast live at 2pm and listeners from these areas can also call in using the same toll free number.

This appearance is the first of what promises to be a monthly appearance by Spitzer on "Vox Pop" to discuss specific topics and answer listeners’ questions.
