Green Watchdog Group Says Dirty Gas Drilling Is No Fairy Godmother for NY

ALBANY, NY (06/07/2011)(readMedia)-- In response to the release of a new report from the Manhattan Institute's Center for Energy Policy and the Environment, Environmental Advocates of New York released the following statement:

"Just like Pennsylvania's lax history of regulatory oversight for dirty gas drilling called hydraulic fracturing or 'fracking,' you get what you pay for," said Dave Gahl, Policy Director, Environmental Advocates of New York. "The pro-gas people paid for a report that claims natural gas is a fairy godmother that will save New York's economy and--poof!--makes the very real concerns about health and safety disappear."
