Hannah Weiss of Lansing Co-Authors Eastern Psychological Association Paper

CHESTERTOWN, MD (04/15/2013)(readMedia)-- Washington College is pleased to announce that Hannah Weiss '15 of Lansing, MI recently co-authored a paper with Dr. Tia Murphy entitled "Face-to-Face vs. Facebook: A Study of Attachment and Social Interaction." Presented at the 119th annual meeting of the Eastern Psychological Association (EPA) in New York City, the paper examined whether or not individuals with different attachment styles were more likely to make connections through social media or through personal interaction. EPA was founded in 1896 and is the oldest of the regional Psychological Associations in the United States.

Weiss is double majoring in psychology with a concentration in clinical counseling and economics and minoring in business management. She is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Psi Chi, the Douglass Cater Society of Junior Fellows, Zeta Tau Alpha and the Psychology Club. A graduate of Grand Ledge High School, Weiss is the recipient of the Amy Lynn Ferris Grant and has made the Dean's List each semester she has been enrolled at the College.
