Havana Soldier promoted to the rank of sergeant first class

SPRINGFIELD, IL (08/02/2013)(readMedia)-- Heather Miller of Havana, Ill., was promoted to sergeant first class Aug. 1 at Camp Lincoln in Springfield, Ill.
Miller has been the readiness noncommissioned officer for the Illinois Army National Guard's 139th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment in Springfield for the last 18 months. She will now transition to senior resources noncommissioned officer with Joint Force Headquarters in Springfield, where she will serve as the noncommissioned officer in charge of the Illinois National Guard's Soldier Support Center at Camp Lincoln.
A 2001 Midwest High School graduate, Miller enlisted into the Illinois National Guard July 2000 during her senior year. She has served one month in the Republic of South Korea in support of a military training mission.
