Heavy Traffic Expected at Turnpike's Delaware Valley Interchange Thursday morning

Emergency road repairs to close one entry lane at toll plaza.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (04/06/2011)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is advising motorists entering the Delaware Valley (#358) Interchange from State Route 13 in Bristol Township to be prepared for slow moving or stopped traffic starting at 4 a.m. tomorrow morning, Thursday, April 7 until Friday afternoon for emergency roadway repairs in lane 2 at the toll plaza. Only one ticket/E-ZPass lane will be open for motorists entering the Turnpike system to travel eastbound and westbound on I-276.

During the emergency repair work, motorists are urged to use extreme caution and remain alert for slow-moving or stopped traffic when approaching the toll plaza and expect possible back-ups onto Route 13 in the event of delays at the interchange. The contractor anticipates the roadwork in the entry lane will continue until late Friday afternoon; however, weather or other work-related issues could cause the lane to remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday morning, April 11.

Additional interchange personnel will be added to help move traffic through the interchange as quickly and efficiently as possible. Message boards will be strategically placed to alert motorists of the scheduled work, and the Turnpike Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) will be activated. Turnpike travelers can tune to 1640 AM or call 866.976.TRIP (8747) for traffic conditions. Motorists are urged to plan accordingly or use an alternate route. For emergencies, dial *11 on your mobile phone.
