ST. PAUL, MN (06/28/2011)(readMedia)-- Alex Timm, of Hopkins, Minn., and seven of his classmates received honorable mention at the Effie Awards, a national collegiate competition that recognizes the most effective advertising efforts in the United States each year. Their submission, "Sophisticated People, Intelligent Choices," a public service announcement for Heineken, included a strategic plan, an innovative commercial, and creative brief for use in television, Facebook, YouTube and mobile marketing.

Timm is a Marketing senior at Concordia University, St. Paul. "This is a national-level competition and the Concordia students knocked it out of the park," said Dr. Nancy Harrower, the faculty adviser for the project. "They analyzed a real-world scenario and put together an excellent marketing strategy for Heineken."
