Hoyt Earns Academic All-District

HOUGHTON, MI (02/05/2013)(readMedia)-- Michigan Tech basketball player Sam Hoyt earned Capital One Academic All-District Four honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Senior guard Sam Hoyt (Arkansaw, Wis./Durand) ranks sixth in the GLIAC in scoring (15.9 ppg) and first in free throw percentage (.919). She ranks second in school history in both free throw percentage for a season and a career (.848). Hoyt ranks second in assists (75) and fourth in steals (40) in the league. Her 340 career assists rank eighth in school history. Hoyt, a two-time All-GLIAC selection, has a 3.94 cumulative grade point average in mathematics.

She will be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-American honors.
