IT industry leader to speak with students during Leadership Q&A on Oct. 16
CEO of Sophisticated Systems also presenting at ERT on Oct. 17
MARIETTA, OHIO (10/04/2018) Dwight Smith, President and CEO of Sophisticated Systems, Inc., will be conducting the second Leadership Q&A of the fall semester at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 16th, in the McDonough Center's Third-Floor Gallery.
The Q&A is free and open to the public.
Smith has nearly 40 years of experience in the IT industry and founded Sophisticated Systems in Columbus, Ohio. The company provides businesses with a comprehensive set of information technology solutions to drive results, from project staffing, assessments to fully outsourced managed services.
Sophisticated Systems has experienced national recognition in being named as one of Inc. Magazine's 500 Fastest Growing Companies in the country. SSI has also been recognized as a 2015 and 2017 Corporate Caring Award finalist in addition to previously winning the award in 2001.
In 1998, Smith established a non-profit foundation, TBTG (Thanks Be To God) to provide assistance to children in the Columbus area and around the world. In addition, he has served as an Adjunct Professor in the MBA Program at Franklin University and has been a guest lecturer at The Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. Smith has a bachelor's degree and MBA from The Ohio State University.
Smith will also be making a presentation for the Economic Roundtable of the Ohio Valley at noon, Wednesday, October 17th, at the Parkersburg Country Club.
The Economic Roundtable of the Ohio Valley is a non-partisan non-political educational organization that formed in 1982 as a result of collaboration between the Business and Economics Department at Marietta College and a mix of business, civic and educational leaders. The object of the Economic Roundtable is to promote an interest in and to enlighten its members and others in the community on important governmental, economic, and social issues. Since its inception, the Economic Roundtable of the Ohio Valley has presented the Ohio Valley with more than 160 distinguished speakers who have enlightened and informed ERT members with their fascinating discussion on a broad scope of governmental, economic and social issues.
