Illinois Guard response team trains with local agencies in "building collapse" response

MARSEILLES, IL (06/15/2016)(readMedia)-- The Illinois National Guard's Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive Enhanced Response Force Packet (CERFP) will be training with local and state emergency management agencies on how to conduct search and rescue operations at the collapsed building. The CERFP is hosting a VIP and media availability day on June 23 at the Marseilles Training Center.

• Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive Enhanced Response Force Packet (CERFP))

WHAT: • The CERFP will conduct search and rescue operations in a collapsed building training scenario, in conjunction with local fire departments, the coroner and other emergency management agencies.

• The team will rescue victims trapped in and around a simulated structure collapse, as well as conduct medical triage, decontamination, medical treatment and fatality recovery.

• This training is part of the CERFP’s annual requirement to stay certified with the National Guard Bureau.
