• The $23 million Mount Vernon Readiness Center is a first-rate facility where Soldiers will hone their skills in preparation for local, state and federal missions for decades to come. As the Illinois Army National Guard transforms with the U.S. Army to meet the challenges of the 21st century, this new facility will provide a critical readiness platform for our Soldiers and allow them to successfully complete both our federal and state missions. It also adds to the homeland defense capability of the Illinois National Guard.
