Insurance Disaster Recovery Unit Sent to Queens Sites

Insurance Department Personnel Available to Help Homeowners, Renters and Business Owners Resolve Insurance Issues Related to Wind Storm

NEW YORK, NY (09/23/2010)(readMedia)-- Consumers in the Flushing and Middle Village sections of Queens who have insurance questions related to last week's wind storm are urged to visit New York State Insurance Department representatives stationed in the Department's Mobile Command Center (MCC).

Insurance Department Consumer Services Bureau representatives will be available at the following locations and times:

38-10 138th St. in Flushing between 38th and 39th Avenues – Now through 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 24.

Juniper Blvd South and 78 Street in Middle Village – 3 to 9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 24 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 25

In addition to the MCC, consumers in Queens and in other areas affected by the wind storm should feel free to use the Department's toll-free Disaster Hotline if they need help. The hotline, 1-800-339-1759, is staffed from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday."
